After nearly six months of battling the COVID-19 virus some people remain reluctant to participate in the fight to rid our country of this dreaded pandemic.
While it is true that most Americans have received mixed messages from our country’s leaders, the medical professionals in charge have been steadfast in recommending the wearing of masks in addition to social distancing in order to minimize the impact of the coronavirus. These two safety measures along with the frequent washing of the hands and a conscious effort not to touch your face, will go a long way in preventing the spread of the virus.
Finally, even if only half-heartedly, the President has tacitly endorsed the wearing of masks in order to improve the chances of controlling the spread of the virus. This recent change in attitude will hopefully sway more people to participate in the effort to rid our country of this disease rather than spread it needlessly.
For those folks who may not have easy access to an N-95 mask or a surgical mask, homemade cloth face masks are better than no mask at all though they must be washed after every use to be most effective.
The takeaway:
- Make sure you are wearing a mask if you plan to go outside.
- Try to maintain a six-foot minimum distance from others at all times.
- Be sure to wash your hands frequently using soap.
- Avoid touching your face with your hands.
FYI, some people with particularly sensitive skin may develop a slight irritation on their face from the constant pressure of the mask. A little dab of Columbia Ultimate Skin Repair Cream will resolve this situation quickly and safely.
These simple precautions will be helpful in containing the spread of the virus. Let’s Make America Healthy Again.
