Probiotics

Inspired By Nature

Everything we do at Columbia SkinCare reflects our deep dive into understanding the microbiome and combining our 150+ years of scientific research in developing safe and effective products that promote the natural healing capabilities of the human body.

Why Probiotics?

Human skin plays host to trillions of bacteria, most that are helpful and some that can be harmful. A healthy level of good bacteria is essential for skin wellness. The outer layer of our skin is our “first responder” against infection, inflammation and disease.

By introducing a precisely formulated complex of probiotics, peptides and antioxidant plant stem cells we balance the skin microflora and primes the skin to receive nourishment.

How It Works

Columbia Probiotic SkinCare products support skin wellness with a proprietary complex consisting of a fermented probiotic lysate, vitamins, stem cell extracts, and amino acids which potentiate and help strengthen and balance the skin’s microbiome.

The Power of Probiotics

Our unique formulations are designed to work in harmony with the body’s natural ability to heal. When used as recommended, our probiotic concentrate and probiotic complex will effectively enhance the most important biological factor in aging skin…its ability to renew itself.

I recommend using this concentrate after chemical peels, laser treatments, and microneedling, or to offset the sometimes irksome effects of retinoids and exfoliants, as it restores the barrier quickly and helps promote healing.

Key Ingredients

A NATURAL BLEND

PROBIOTICS  encourage antimicrobial properties, act on the skin’s ability to renew itself and help improve radiance and luminosity.

PHOSPHOLIPIDS  have good skin and tissue affinity and act as a transdermal delivery system, due to the similarity of their composition to skin.

POLYSACCHARIDES  keep skin hydrated by preventing transdermal water loss, stimulate skin cell renewal, protect skin from UV radiation and stimulate skin protein synthesis.

AMINO ACIDS  boost production of collagen and fibronectin in the skin reinforcing the structure of the DEJ (Dermal Epidermal Junction), reducing the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles.

PEPTIDES  maintain a healthy balance between fluids and electrolytes and help in the natural production of collagen, elastin and hyaluronic acid.

PLANT STEM CELLS  protect dermal fibers from sun damage (UV and Infrared) by suppressing the activity of Cathepsin G and MMP, which results in lost of elasticity and firmness in the skin. Suppression increases firmness and reduces the appearance of wrinkles and premature skin aging.

VITAMIN C  increases collagen levels and repairs the effects of UV exposure and other environmental damage.
